Roger Petseren is the Arthur and Ruth Sloan Professor of Political Science at MIT. He is author of four books, an innovator in the study of emotions in violent conflict, and a tireless advocate for careful ethnographic observation and immersive fieldwork in political science. He has been a mentor and inspiration to dozens of graduate students in the discipline of political science.
